So far I think this week will be really fun and I have two really cool counselors this year! I think I'm going to meet some really cool kids this year. "Its really fun out here because we got to learn [what to do] when theres a fire drill going on and then got to pet horses and comb its hair and the counselors give you free hats and water bottles but we don't get to keep the wather bottles and you get to meet new people because I have made 6 new friends and their names are Marissa, Stephanie, Kenia, Javon, DeOndrea and Iesha."

"I am 9 years old. I like to weave. I am Native American, I four tribes. I am Navajo, Pawnee, Shawnee, and Southern Cheyenne. I live in Denver with my mom, my auntie, two brothers and cousin. This is my first year at this camp. I am going into fourth grade, my little brother is going into first grade. Today I saw a small horse, his name is Big Jack. He gets a big attitude if you call him small."

Meet the Counselors and Staff!

Meet Mr. Lawrence, he is the Camp Director! He is the man in charge of everything. This is Mr. Lawrence's second year as director but he has been working with Old Stories, New Voices since it was started!

Welcome to camp and don't forget to look at the older blog posts to see important information!

Miss Kristine and Mr. David are excited to meet you. They are the counselors for Company A. Miss Kristine has been a counselor for 3 years and this is Mr. David's 2nd year.

Mr. Brandon and Miss Tessa would like to say "Hi"! They are the counselors for Company B. This is Mr. Brandon's 2nd year as a counselor and Miss Tessa's 1st. They can't wait for camp to start!

Don't Miss Dee and Mr. Arthur look friendly? That's because they are! They are the counselors for Company C. Both Miss Dee and Mr. Arthur have been counselors for 4 years.

This is Ms. Grace and Mr. Justin, they are the counselors for Company D! Ms. Grace has been a counselor for 3 years and Mr. Justin has been a counselor for 4!

Meet Mr. Patrick and Miss Rachel, they are the counselors for Company E! Mr. Patrick has been a counselor for 3 years and started when we had one with kids from New Mexico. Miss Rachel has been a counselor with Old Stories, New Voices for 5 years!

Say "Hi" to Mr. Sean and Mr. Isaiah. They are the counselors for Company F. Mr. Sean has been a counselor for 4 years; this is Mr. Isaiah's 2nd year in the wonderful role of counselor.

This is Nurse Kim. She takes care of everyone at the camp (campers, counselors, staff and anyone else who needs help). She is a retired nurse who loves coming back to camp each year!

Here is Mr. Ron and Mr. Booker. Both young men have been doing this camp almost as long as it has been around. They used to be counselors, now they help teach the programs and are in charge of the trip to the Sand Dunes!

Meet Mr. Ezra and Miss Cheryl. They are the behind-the-scenes people who work to make the counselors and campers happy! Mr. Ezra was previously a camper at Old Stories, New Voices so he knows the camp inside and out! Miss Cheryl was a counselor for 3 years and has been doing this job at camp for 2 years.
